Students in Mr. Sabol's Science class had a "Hands On" experience learning about rocks, fossils, and erosion. Taking the tools of a geologist in hand they went to work breaking away 320,000,000 year old Devonian rock looking for fossils. The findings included brachiopods, trilobites, crinoids, and other aquatic life from when this area was under a shallow sea.
Students also explored the effects of erosion first hand when they created river channels on the 14 foot erosion table and then turned on the flow. They recorded changes in the stream and how it eroded over a 2 min period. Everyone did a great job!! Nice work students!!!
